Join us on November 2nd and 3rd for Nova Scotia's first in-person hackathon for only junior high and high school students. Happening on November 2nd and 3rd at the Dalhousie University Engineering Campus Building B in Halifax, Nova Scotia. All experience levels are welcome, attendance is free, food is provided, and there will be prizes! HarbourHacks will take place from 5PM-8PM on November 2nd and 9:30AM-6:30PM on November 3rd at the Dalhousie University Sexton Campus and can be accessed through the alumni lounge at 5260 Dacosta Row!
HarbourHacks was started by Laura Wright, a grade 12 student at Citadel High School. After being a Future Tech Intern at Nokia Canada over the summer she realized for many other Canadian high school students hackathons were a regular weekend activity. However, in Halifax there are no in-person hackathons for high school students. In realization of this she created her own. SuperNOVA @ Dalhousie University helped secure the venue. Laura secured funding and resources from the GLOCAL Foundnation in support of resources required.

A hackathon is an event where teams come together to solve problems using either software or hardware over a short time period, often only 24 or 48 hours. This problem is usually given by the hackathon organizers and practical solutions are encouraged.

Teams can be anywhere from 2-4 people.
There will be plenty of time available to meet other people to form your own team!
